The Training Center of Intellectual Property (hereinafter referred to as the «Training Center») was established in 2004 by order of the President of the Republic of Belarus. It works closely with the WIPO Worldwide Academy and the Interministerial Scientific and Methodological Council on Education in the Sphere of Intellectual Property.

The training target groups include administrators and specialists of various agencies of the government, public and private organizations and enterprises, the academe, intellectual property professionals and users, students, the general public.

The following types of training courses are offered:

• basic elements of intellectual property management;
• registration of industrial property titles;
• intellectual property management (for accounting officers and economists);
• patent information and patent studies;
• copyright and related rights;
• patent and information search procedures;
• inventions, utility models, industrial designs (sub-course of the general course «Registration of Industrial Property Titles»);
• trademarks and service marks (sub-course of the general course «Registration of Industrial Property Titles»);
• valuation of intellectual property;
• activities of a patent attorney in the field of intellectual property.

At the request, the Training Center organizes conferences and seminars pertaining to current issues and emerging trends in the field of intellectual property.

Consultations and advice concerning intellectual property issues may obtained at consultation points set up by the Training Center in major regional cities of Belarus.
